Noxious Weeds
This notice is issued pursuant to Section 66.0407 and 66.0517(3) of the Wisconsin Statutes and Village of Windsor Ordinance Sec. 34-54.
A person owning, occupying or controlling land (on non-agricultural lots or parcels of land) shall destroy all noxious weeds on the land. Destroy means the complete killing of weeds or the killing of weed plants above the surface of the ground by the use of chemicals, cutting, tillage, cropping system, pasturing livestock, or any or all of these in effective combination, at a time and in a manner as will effectually prevent the weed plants from maturing to the bloom or flower stage.
"Noxious weed" means Canada thistle, leafy spurge and field bindweed (creeping Jenny) and any other weed the governing body of any municipality or the county board of any county by ordinance or resolution declares to be noxious within its respective boundaries.
In any case where the owner, occupant or person in charge of the property shall fail to destroy their weeds the Village may elect to destroy the weeds at the expense of the owner, occupant or person in charge. Such charge if not paid within thirty (30) days shall be placed as a special tax against said lot or parcel of land.
